CHP: Driver in James Road deadly crash was 14-years-old

UPDATE (6:25 AM): The California Highway Patrol's accident report indicates the driver of a car in a deadly crash on James Road in Oildale was 14-years-old.

Officials say the teen was driving a Nissan west on James Road, north of Airport Drive when a piece of construction equipment began to cross the road just west of Oil Fields Road.

The passenger side of the car hit a bucket, killing the 10-year-old and 11-year-old passengers, said officials.

The 14-year-old driver and a 9-year-old passenger had minor injuries.

No other injuries were reported.


UPDATE: Traffic is back open along James Road in Oildale following a crash that killed a boy and a girl.

The California Highway Patrol said a car collided with a bulldozer killing the two passengers.

The driver and another passenger in the car were hospitalized with moderate injuries.

They were also under the age of 18.


Eastbound traffic shut down along James Road in Oildale, following a deadly crash. It happened around 3:45 p.m. Thursday.

The California Highway Patrol said a car collided with a bulldozer killing at least one person. The identity of the person who died has not been released.

No information yet on when traffic will re-open.
