BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — Ridgeview's senior cross country runner Alex Cuevas has followed up a state championship winning season with another successful one as the current top-ranked cross country runner in the state.
On Monday, Cuevas signed to continue his career at U.C. Davis on a full-ride scholarship, all while he continues to chase another championship this year.
"It's something really special to me coming from a family, we've been living on a farm so just having a full ride for school, that just means so much, I'm just really looking forward to making my family proud," Cuevas said. "
I'd like to thank the coaches, really pushing me every day. Any day that I feel like I was just too tired, didn't want to do it, felt like I was doing bad, they were just always there pushing me, motivating me."
Cuevas and his fellow Wolf Pack teammates will compete for a valley championship on Thursday.
