Shafter Generals playing to continue their historic season

Posted

The 12-0 Shafter Generals are hoping to continue their historic season with their first valley title win since 1955.

Things have just gone right for the Generals this season and that was something the team expected in preseason.

Now, the next step for Shafter is to win a sectional championship and earn a spot in the state playoffs. But, their South Sequoia rival is standing in the Generals way. The team they beat to clinch a league title back in October.

This is the fourth time in Kern County history that two teams are facing each other for a section title. And we know the communities surrounding both teams will be out in full force to see if Shafter keeps an unblemished record or if the Thunderbirds avenge their only loss on the season.
