BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — When Daniel Lomax Jr. spots the endzone, there's more than just a touchdown on his mind.
" I just play for people that like can't run or people that like can't do certain things because of disabilities," he said.
Lomax did quite a bit of running last Friday against Fresno High School. He racked up three total scores on his own and had two touchdown runs that went for more than 60 yards. He did it all with someone on his mind.
"I have a cousin that has down syndrome, I play for her," he said. "If they were in my situation, they'd wanna do better or like play if they could but they can't so I play for them."
Lomax has football dreams past high school, and if he keeps running the way he did and for who he did, it is certainly within reach.
