BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — There are times in sports when the story off the field takes precedent over the story on the field.
Centennial High School helped to do just that on Opening night of the football season as they honored David Marcus.
His spirit and enthusiasm for Bakersfield and its sports, particularly Centennial, was evident to many. The school wanted to make sure to remember him so they added helmet decals with his face on them, a D. M. on the 50-yard-line of the field, his sister helped conduct the coin toss and everyone held two thumbs up, his signature pose.
