11 local wrestlers leave Rabobank Arena with medals during the state wrestling championships

BAKERSFIELD, Ca. — On a historic weekend for wrestling in Bakersfield, Rabobank Arena hosted more than a thousand wrestlers for the CIF State Wrestling Championships, and for the first time ever, girls competed alongside the boys.

40-plus local wrestlers hit the mats with the action beginning on Thursday, and on Saturday 11 of those athletes representing Kern County walked away with medals.
