BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — Bakersfield native Jordan Love has been selected 26th overall in the NFL Draft by the Green Bay Packers.
Love will more than likely back-up NFL superstar Aaron Rodgers and learn from the two-time NFL MVP and Super Bowl winner.
The former Liberty High School star joins David Carr as the only other Bakersfield quarterback to be drafted in the first round of the draft. He joins Carr's brother, Derek, as a fellow Mountain West Conference quarterback to get a crack in the NFL.
Love spent three seasons at Utah State University and had Heisman Trophy hype around him after his sophomore season when he threw for 3,567 yards and 32 touchdowns.
