BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — All streaks must come to an end. For the Cal State Bakersfield women's basketball team, they were on the wrong end of that streak.

They were taking on the 0-18 Chicago State Cougars on Saturday afternoon and were attempting to stay perfect in both WAC play and home games.

Both of their streaks ended while the Cougars clinched their first victory in the 2019-2020 season. With 1.1 seconds to play and the game tied at 58, the Cougars were fouled in the post and sunk two free throws to give them a 60-58 victory.

"We didn't give our fans something exciting to see today and so Chicago State got us," head coach Greg McCall said. "We're probably going to scrolling at the bottom of the ESPN thing down there for the team that got beat by Chicago State, but we knew that coming in they were that kind of team."

The Roadrunners will be challenged next week as they face Utah Valley on the road.
