BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — The 2nd Annual Carlos Grande Invitational kicked off on Friday afternoon.
The tournament is hosted by the East High Blades soccer program to remember former player Carlos Grande who died suddenly in 2016. He was a soccer player at East and was a member of the U.S. National U17 Soccer team.
In the first two games of the tournament, the Ridgeview Wolfpack blanked Independence 3 to 0. In the Blades' first game, they took down Cesar Chavez 3 to 0.
The tournament will contunue on Saturday.
