BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — The Bakersfield Condors wanted to end 2019 with a win, but they were able to settle for a point instead.
The Condors faced the Ontario Reign on New Year's Eve and lost the contest in overtime 4-3. Joe Gambardella's third period goal off of a face off sent the game to OT where the Reign capitalized on a 3-on-2 and scored within the first minute.
Despite the loss, the Condors added another point, their fifth in a three-game span. They now are just five points back of the Reign who sit in fourth place in the AHL Pacific division. The two teams will face each other another three times in the next five weeks.
The next time the Condors will hit the ice is Jan. 3 for a two-game series in San Diego against the San Diego Gulls.
