BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — Just a week after Bakersfield Christian Head Coach Darren Carr talked about the leadership that senior Ben Yurosek brings to the field, the team was waiting to see if they would be able to use him on the field during the semifinals following ejections during the BCHS and Lemoore game in the quarterfinals.
As of Monday, Carr confirmed the Stanford commit will be able to play after the team appealed the original ruling, while three ejections on Lemoore still stood even though their season came to an end.
Yurosek has been a crucial component for the Eagles during his high school career both on and off the field.
"It's a rare thing to have with a kid like that. Super kid off the field, tremendous on the field. He's not a quiet guy on the field," Carr said. "He really cares, he wants to do well and he doesn't want to leave the school not winning something for his teammates."
The Eagles face San Luis Obispo in the Central Section semis on Friday at home.
