BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — When the coronavirus pandemic struck the economy, many began turning to unemployment to make ends meet. That's when structural flaws within the EDD came to light.
Local Assemblyman Vince Fong said his office is working to help residents navigate these challenges and get residents the unemployment benefits they need and deserve.
"EDD is clearly broken and many of my constituents are having difficulties. My office is working with hundreds of constituents to try and break through the many bureaucratic inefficiencies that plague EDD," Fong said. "It is clear that the status quo is not working for Californians across the state. The agency's current leadership and way of doing things have to change."
Fong said if you or someone you know is experiencing issues with receiving EDD benefits, you can reach out to his office at (661) 395-2995 or Assemblymember.Fong@assembly.ca.gov.
