BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — Cafe Smitten is back open for business at both locations, downtown and in southwest Bakersfield. The announcement comes more than a month after closing their doors following Governor Gavin Newsom's original projections for the Coronavirus in California.

"He said that half the population could get Covid-19 if no one did anything," said Stasie Bitton, "so we talked to our employees, vendors and suppliers and closed the doors the next day."

Bitton said the staff cleaned both restaurants, donated their produce to charity and shut it down. Now, more than a month later, as other eateries are reopening, Smitten mad the decision to start making their signature dishes again like the Avocado Smash!

Cafe Smitten downtown is open Monday-Friday, 7am - 3pm. Saturday and Sunday, 8am - 5pm.

Cafe Smitten Grand Island is open Monday-Saturday, 8am - 8pm. Sunday from 8am - 5pm.
