Public health confirms 12th local patient of COVID-19 in Kern County

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — The Kern County Public Health Department announced another resident of Kern County has tested positive for the coronavirus, bringing the total number of residents with COVID-19 to 12, and one non-resident.

As of this morning there are 291 coronavirus tests pending, 185 negative tests, and eight people in the public health monitoring program.

Public health said there was one positive test in Valley region, 8 in West Bakersfield, and 3 in East Bakersfield.

Public Health is currently investigating this case to determine potential exposure sources and any contacts the patient may have had.
