BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — With millions of people across the country losing their jobs due to the pandemic there is a growing need to help families put food on the table.
Wednesday morning the Mission at Kern County distributed hundreds of food boxes to families as part of the USDA's Farm to Families program.
The Mission said it received 3,500 protein-packed boxes that could help feed a family of 6 for a week.
The Mission will distribute the food boxes each of the next two Wednesdays this month.
