Bakersfield, CA. - Senator Dianne Feinstein said that she would like California Secretary of State, Alex Padilla, to join her in the U.S. Senate.

If Kamala Harris becomes Vice President, then that means Governor Gavin Newsom will have to pick someone to fill Harris' seat for the rest of her term in 2022.

Padilla is considered to be one of the top picks to fill Harris' seat. If chosen, he would be the first Latino to serve California in the senate.

Feinstein earlier this week said that Padilla has her support, and would represent California very well.
