SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. — A hiker who vanished last week has been dead in the Golden Gate National Recreation Area in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Authorities say 56-year-old Scott Klingenmaier was found dead Tuesday. He was last seen Thursday going for a hike near Tennesee Valley Road and Oakwood Trail, west of Marin City, in the vast recreation area.
The Marin County coroner tells the San Francisco Chronicle that there's no immediate information on how he died.
