DELANO, Calif. — Hundreds of Uber and Lyft drivers are stopping in Delano Monday afternoon as part of a three-day motor pilgrimage from Los Angeles to Sacramento in support of union rights for rideshare drivers.

The drivers are drawing their inspiration from a 1966 protest on behalf of farmworkers. Monday afternoon at 2 p.m. the drivers are making a symbolic stop at our Lady of Guadalupe church to meet with United Farm Workers members.

The drivers are making this trip to highlight problems they face, including long hours, the lack of basic workplace protections, and the inability of workers to unionize.
