SAN JOSE, Calif — Cal Water has asked that the California Public Utilities commission to delay rate changes due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The motion was filed April 28. Cal Water proposed that all rate changes be postponed until January 1 2021.
In the motion Cal Water recognized the effects that Covid-19 was having on its customers.
"Our top priority is to protect the health and safety of our customers, and with the effects of the pandemic and economic concerns, the last thing we want them to worry about is their water bill," said Martin A. Kropelnicki, President and CEO of the California Water Service group.
