On Wednesday 23ABC spoke with Kern County Congressman and House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy. He discussed his thoughts on the process of reopening for California.
McCarthy said since California is such a big state one size doesn't fit all.
In regards to guidelines and updates, he said he believes Governor Gavin Newsom has failed in a lot of different places.
"He will say restaurants can open by their square footage but churches cannot. If square footage works for people for distance churches could have that same opportunity not all buisness are the same i think at times he needs to trust people more."
McCarthy continued saying he wants Newsom to lay out clear guidance and allow people to keep business going but in a safe manner.
