SACRAMENTO, Calif. (KERO) — The recall that threatens to remove Governor Gavin Newsom from office is inching closer to reality.
The Democratic Governor was elected in a landslide in 2018 but unstable politics following Donald Trump's presidency could add to the risk for the incumbent.
Recent polls have shown Newsom losing ground with independents, Latinos, and even his fellow Democrats.
Recall organizers say they've nearly reached the 1.5 petition signatures required to place the proposal on the ballot this year.
The signatures than have to be validated.
