BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — In Episode 5 of Breaking the Cycle of Gang Violence, we speak to District Attorney Cynthia Zimmer.
"If you don't think gang violence can effect you because you're not a part of a gang, you're wrong." said Zimmer.
Zimmer discusses the pattern of violence escalation as people get further into gangs. She also discusses the challenges of prosecuting gang cases and the patterns she's seen related to gangs throughout her career.
"I think we have to take a look at ourselves and accept that, and know that we've got a problem in Kern County. We've got a problem, but why don't you, Joe Public, be a part of the solution?"
