Photos of a soldier and his military dog who were injured this week while serving in Afghanistan have gone viral.
According to the 89th Military Police Brigade's Facebook page, Rocky and his handler, Specialist Andrew Brown, were hurt in an IED explosion while they were searching a structure in an ongoing operation.

The two are staying in the same hospital room during their recovery, and the photo of Rocky wearing a purple heart around his collar has already been shared over 100,000 times on Facebook.
Rocky is expected to return to Fort Hood in a few weeks, and Brown is expected to be OK.
