SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. — The first confirm case of the novel coronavirus has been confirmed in San Bernardino County Sunday.

According to the San Bernardino Department of Public Health, a 53-year-old woman who returned from London sometime last week tested positive for the virus.

The patient went to the Kaiser Permanente emergency room in Fontana Thursday with symptoms consistent with COVID-19, a health department press release states.

Her test was administered by Quest Diagnostics on Thursday, March 12 and returned as positive Sunday.

Health officials are attempting to identify people the patient came into contact with, to monitor them for symptoms.
