BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is recommending all mass gatherings of 50 people or more to be canceled or postponed for the next eight weeks.
The CDC announced the recommendation in a press release Sunday, following their previous recommendation to cancel events involving 250 people or less.
"Examples of large events and mass gatherings include conferences, festivals, parades, concerts, sporting events, weddings, and other types of assemblies," the press release says.
These guidelines do not apply to schools, institutes of higher learning or business, according to the CDC.
