The canvassing phase of the 2020 census is now underway. That's when reps go door to door to make sure about 150 million addresses are correct.
The Census Bureau says new technology this time around will help make their count more efficient. They say through satellite imagery, the postal service, and local governments, they've already been able to confirm 65 percent of addresses. So canvassers will only need to take care of 35 percent in the field.
Also this time, people will be able to respond to the census by phone and online, as well as on paper. Census canvassing will run through October.
