(KERO) — As Kern County prepares for possible climate disasters the American Red Cross is urging residents to prepare themselves now.

The organization is asking for volunteers to help people affected by wildfires, floods, or earthquakes.

The Red Cross says volunteers make up 90 percent of their workforce.
