MARIONA COUNTY, Fla. — It seems like every odd or wacky news story has a Florida connection, and this story is no different.
The Marion County Sheriff's Office got a call unlike any they've ever received in their 175 years of existence. An Indiana police department said a hot air balloon stolen out of their jurisdiction was spotted at The Villages Hot Air Balloon Festival being held at the Florida Horse Park.
Marion County deputies responded and confirmed the balloon was, in fact, the same one stolen hundreds of miles away. They towed the stolen balloon and say it will be returned to it's rightful owner, who doesn't want to press charges.
Just another day in Florida!
