Molly the dog reunited with rescuer

Posted

Molly, the dog who was hit by a train a week ago, was reunited with the Amtrak officer who rescued her Friday morning.

Officer Kevin McMullen pulled her from the tracks after the accident and kept her alive while Baltimore City Animal Control traveled to the scene.

According to Baltimore Animal Rescue and Care Shelter, Molly, a pitbull, ran into a tunnel right before a fast-moving train entered. The train could not stop in time.

As soon as it had gone by, Amtrak put out an emergency alert to stop all other incoming trains.

Molly's hind leg had been severed, and the rest of her body was covered in deep lacerations. BARCS, where she was transported, put out a call asking for money to help Molly and she is on the road to recovery, the shelter said.
