BAKERSFIED, Calif. — A local chef and culinary arts instructor is making sure you can still make your favorite recipes, even if the stores are out of the ingredients.

Lora Peñaloza from Wasco released a YouTube video on how to make your own yeast.

"I noticed a lot of people can’t find bread or yeast, so I made this video on how to make yeast just using a potato, or a piece of fruit, or some flour," she told 23ABC News.

Her YouTube channel also has videos of her making banana cake, pizza dough, potato wedges and more.
