A wind advisory is in effect for the Kern County Mountains and desert areas until 5 am Sunday. Gusts are projected to reach up to 55 mph in some areas.
Temperatures will slightly rise on Sunday but will remain below average. Further warming will take place on Monday, with highs hitting seasonal averages.
A high-pressure system will slowly build on Wednesday through next weekend. Temperatures are expected to remain near or just below triple digits by Thursday. Temperatures will be around 4-8 degrees above average for both Friday and Saturday.
