BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — It's one of the leading causes of death in Kern County and this weekend you have a chance to help in the fight against Alzheimer's disease.
The annual Walk to End Alzheimer's is taking place Saturday at The Park at River Walk.
Registration is at 8 a.m., a ceremony at takes place at 9 a.m. and the walk starts at 9:30 a.m.
The Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s is the world’s largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s care, support and research. There is no fee to register, but participants are encouraged to fund raise in order to contribute to the cause and raise awareness. The goal this year is to raise $125,000. Dozens of teams made of hundreds of participants are set to take part.
