The Bakersfield Music Hall of Fame opened its doors for a grand opening concert on Sunday.

The facility, located on Q Street in downtown Bakersfield, has a recording studio along with the concert area.

Country music singers Ty Herndon and Kim McAbee were the headline artists for the Valentine's Concert.

"Just to be here and to see a new music venue is opening up, like this, they're going to bring in a lot of cool acts here so the music community is  growing here and that's really awesome," said Herndon.

Liberty High School student and rising country music singer Kadin Hernandez was the opening act for the concert.

The Bakersfield Music Hall of Fame offers memberships and McAbee, who is also the executive director of the Hall of Fame, says that members get to vote for inductees into the Hall.

"We plan to put their vinyls with their pictures and little areas that tell about them and what they do," said McAbee.
