It is something that both LAPD officers Joe Cirrito and Kristina Tudor have been thinking about doing for years.
Finally, they decided to train in order to take on an almost 400 mile journey from Los Angeles to Sacramento.
Both officers say passing through areas like the Grapevine were devastatingly difficult due to the cold, altitude, and high wind hitting them as if it were ice.
They aren't doing this for no reason however.
Both LAPD officers decided to run in order to honor the lives of all officers who were killed this year.
They are also doing this in order to raise funds for Concerns of Police Survivors (COPS) and the LAPD Memorial Fund.
The GoFundMe Account in order to donate to these organizations is provided below. They have already collected over $10,000.
The total amount of proceeds will be divided in half, allowing both organizations to receive equal amounts.
