BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — The City of Bakersfield announced that Wednesday "Trunk Or Treat" event at Lowell Park and Rexland Acres Community center is canceled due to poor air quality and high wind advisory.
Officials said that the events will be rescheduled at a later date.
The Kern High School District also announced the cancellation of the Shafter High School Fall Festival that was scheduled to take place Wednesday as well.
Wednesday morning Bakersfield College canceled its second annual Public Safety Career Expo for students.
Despite other event cancellations, the Kern County Museum is not canceling its "Safe Halloween" night scheduled for Wednesday and Thursday night. If you purchased tickets for Wednesday night and decide to not attend due to air quality concerns, event organizers said you can use Wednesday's tickets to get into Thursday's event.
Murray Family Farms tweeted that it has closed for the rest of Wednesday due to high winds. They plan to reopen on Thursday.
