Top Golf technology coming to Bakersfield driving range

A new driving range will soon be coming to Stine Road in southwest Bakersfield that features a tracker technology.

The dynamicToptracer technology tracks the flight of a golf ball, displays its path in video and analyzes every shot hit. Topgolf has leveraged the technology for Topgolf Crush, its social experience on tour, game play integration at Topgolf Orlando, and is licensing Toptracer to driving ranges and tournament directors for a more interactive golf experience.

According to Top Golf representatives the Toptracer technology was purchased by the local Bakersfield company, The Ultimate Drive that is currently constructing a new driving range where Jose's Golf Range used to operate at 5101 Stine Rd, Bakersfield.

Top Golf is a driving range-type venue that combines video games, entertainment, food and drinks. Toptracer is the technology used at Top Golf locations.

Additionally, Toptracer continues to enrich the experience of watching golf on TV during some of the biggest tournaments in the world, including The Open Championship and Ryder Cup.

A timeline for the completion of the Ultimate Drive venue is still uncertain but at this time it appears based off the signage and the site that the venue is currently under construction.

Based off ourreports it looks like Top Golf has had its eye on Bakersfield for a while. Back in November 23ABC first reported that Top Golf was one of two companies vying for a spot at the future Bakersfield Commons, located  near 1850 Coffee Road, between Brimhall and Calloway Roads. However, nothing is finalized on that location.
