BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — The Kern County Fair may be canceled, but you can still satisfy your cravings. The Teen Challenge is hosting a Fair Food Frenzy fundraiser.

"For this event, we kind of had to think outside the box being that the fair was closed this year. We wanted to keep our goodies available to the community and have a fundraiser at the same time," said Special Event Coordinator Kailey Salinas.

The Teen Challenge is a year-long program that helps people struggling with substance abuse.

"It is a free program and because it's free, we do a lot of fundraisers throughout the years to keep those doors open for those people, and due to the coronavirus, everything has been shutdown. So this is our first event and so far it's been pretty successful," said Women's Campus Supervisor Paulina Anfinson.

Kettle corn along with peach and apple dumplings are on the menu. Dumplings at $6, small bags of kettle corn are $8 and large bags of kettle corn are $10. Dumpling lovers can also order three-packs for $15 and six-packs for $30.

To place an order, click here, call 661-399-2273 or email kern@teenchallenge.org.

The fundraiser will take place every Friday, Saturday and Sunday through September 20 from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Teen Challenge at 301 E Roberts Lane.
