TEHACHAPI, Calif. — On Tuesday, a Tehachapi woman accused of shooting and killing her ex-husband showed up in court for a bail reduction notion-- which was denied by a judge.
Wendy Howard is facing first-degree murder charges for the deadly shooting of her ex-husband Kelly Pitts at a home off Burnett Road earlier this month.
Outside the courtroom, protesters came out in Howard's support claiming she only acted out of self defense.
Howard is currently being held on a $1 million dollar bail and is expected back in court on July 29.
