TEHACHAPI, Calif. — According to the Tehachapi Police Department a homicide suspect is behind bars after reportedly stabbing a family member.

Officials said at 11:30 a.m. Monday they were called out to a house on South Green Street in Tehachapi. When they arrived they found a woman inside suffering from multiple stab wounds. She was airlifted to Kern Medical where she later died.

The suspect reportedly responsible for the incident, was arrested without incident. The weapon was recovered at the scene.

Investigators said the stabbing appeared to be the result of a family dispute.
