14-year-old Jacob Langston and his family took out a personal boat for a ride on June Lake on Saturday, October 15. Strong winds and choppy waters caused the boat to capsize and sink.

Jacob, his 46-year-old father Doug Langston and 22-year-old brother-in-law Caleb Johnson were not able to make it back to shore.

The community is doing its best to honor the lives of those lost and on Friday, October 21, the Tehachapi High School football teams will wear a #72 decal on their helmets to honor Jacob.

A celebration of life will be held for Jacob and his father in the Tehachapi High School gymnasium on Sunday at 1 p.m.

The families of Caleb, Doug and Jacob have created GoFundMe pages to help in their time of need.
