Suspect in Taft manhunt arrested

UPDATE: According to a press release from the Taft Police Department, the suspect, Edwina Fowler, was arrested. Fowler surrendered to officers from the California Highway Patrol and the Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Office following a high-speed pursuit over county lines.


A manhunt out of Taft took place on Sunday afternoon, November 13th. The suspect in the pursuit and standoff with police is still at-large.

The chase and standoff involved the Taft Police Department and the Kern County Sheriff's Office. The scene of the incident was near the intersection of Ash Street and Harrison Street. The standoff then lead to a pursuit toward San Luis Obispo County, where the California Highway Patrol became involved.
