On Wednesday, the Bakersfield Police Department announced that missing 16-year-old Brisa Torres, who had run away from home, was found safe. Sadly, for Patricia Alatorre the ending was not so happy. The 13-year-old was killed by a man now in police custody.
In addition, authorities are still looking for two more teenagers - 16-year-old Benjamin Sandoval of California City and 17-year-old Katlyn Kinoshita of Bakersfield - were listed as missing just this week.
And though the BPD says that the number of missing juveniles is lower than average this year, there are still 13 other teens missing in Kern County, some dating as far back as 1987.
