BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — St. Paul’s Episcopal Church has announced that the St. Paul’s Child Development Center will close on August 30 of this year due to continued financial losses.

"The leadership of St. Paul’s has not made this decision lightly, especially after so many years of the CDC’s operation and service to the community. However, the CDC has been operating at a financial loss for some time, which necessitates its closure," said St. Paul’s Episcopal Church on their website.

The CDC will continue to operate as normal between now and the end of August. The church made the announcement now to allow families to make the necessary arrangements.

"Moreover, we will be working closely with CDC management and staff to ensure this transition is a smooth one," continued the announcement. "St. Paul’s is thankful for all those who over many years have contributed to the CDC’s work and for the many children who have passed through its doors."
