BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — Bakersfield police are investigating vandalism at St. Francis of Assisi Church. The word 'rape' was spray painted on several parts of the building and a trash can appears to have been set on fire.
This vandalism comes after Bakersfield Police announced that their investigation into sexual misconduct by Monsignor Craig Harrison was closed and they were not recommending charges to the District Attorney's Office.
Authorities say the church turned over all surveillance video to BPD.
This is a developing story and we will continue to update it with new information.
