Search and rescue crews continue to look for a man who reportedly jumped into the Kern River in an attempt to save a juvenile that was in distress.

According to the Kern County Sheriff's Office, the man went missing shortly after 2 p.m. Sunday east of the mouth of the canyon.

23ABC confirmed that the juvenile was rescued from the river and is safe.
