BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — Search and Rescue crews are looking for a man who reportedly went missing in the Kern River at the Mouth of the Canyon Saturday evening.
According to the Kern County Sheriff's Office, multiple people called authorities to report a man going into the rapids and moving down the river.
The search was suspended on Saturday and resumed Sunday morning to the Kern River at the Mouth of the Canyon to locate the missing man.
Steve Williams, Sergeant with the Kern County Sheriff's Office said this is a recovery rather than a rescue.
KCSO will continue to search until the man is found or until it becomes too hot for the crew to be out there.
