Road closures in Mineral County due to 6.4 magnitude earthquake, use caution

MINERAL COUNTY, Nev. — As of 7:30 a.m. May 15, US95 from the US6, Coaldale Junction, in Esmeralda County, to the US95 and Nevada 360 Junction in Mineral County is closed due to aftermath of a 6.4 magnitude earthquake which occurred earlier this morning.

Esmeralda County Sheriff’s Office, Nevada Highway Patrol and Nevada Department of Transportation are currently working a traffic incident on US95 mile marker 89 within Esmeralda County north to the Mineral County line.

Several areas of the highway have damage caused from the 6.4 magnitude earthquake that occurred this morning.

Use caution and expect delays.
