One man dead, second in critical condition after shooting in Northeast Bakersfield

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — Bakersfield Police are investigating a deadly shooting that took place Friday evening in Northeast Bakersfield.

BPD says the call came in just before 7 p.m. for a shooting at a home in the 2800 block of Fordham Street near Columbus Street. When officers arrived, they found a Hispanic man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds in the front yard of the home. He was taken to a local hospital and is listed in critical condition.

While at the residence, a second Hispanic man was found suffering from multiple gunshot wounds in the backyard of the home. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

BPD says the identity of the victims are being withheld pending an investigation by the Kern County Coroner's office.
