BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — The Kern High School District Board of Trustees is scheduled to announce the name for its new high school on Monday night.
The district announced a list of names during a meeting in September.
According to the KHSD, "with the construction of the District's newest comprehensive high school to begin in Fall 2020, a request for the naming of the school was presented to Kenny Seals, Chair of the Superintendent's Screening Committee for the Naming of Facilities."
The new high school, which will be located at Panama Ln. and Cottonwood Rd, is scheduled to open for the 2022-2023 school year.
The potential names are:
- Prosperity
- Victory
- Panama
- Tacoma
- David Nelson
- Buck Owens
- Thomas Baker
- Mary K Shell
The Board of Trustees is scheduled to meet at 6 p.m. Monday.
