Shooting in Delano with two victims, one fatality confirmed

UPDATE: (July 30, 2018, 9:00 a.m.) The Kern County Corner's office has identified the victim in Friday's shooting as 22-year-old Marco Antonio Alfaro of Delano. 

UPDATE (July 28, 2018 10:45 a.m.): Delano Police have arrested Jose Luis Narvarez in connection with a deadly shooting in Delano.

Narvarez, 27, was identified by witnesses at the scene and detained by Kern County Sheriff's Deputies. He has been charged with homicide and attempted homicide, along with gang related and weapons charges.

One victim is confirmed dead in the Delano shooting according to Delano Police. Police said that the incident happened at about 3:16 p.m.

DPD said that they were dispatched to 12th Avenue and Belmont Street in regards to a shooting. When they arrived, they found a vehicle had collided into a fence and two victims were suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

One of the victims was airlifted to an area hospital, police said, and the second victim died from his injuries. 

Both victims are identified as Hispanic males, no ages have been confirmed at this time.

Delano Police Department said that the public is not at risk.
